Universal Carbon ist ein Airbus-Spin-off aus Hamburg und entwickelt skalierbare CO₂-Capture-Lösungen für biogene Gas-, Wasser- und Luftströme. Das Gründerteam entwickelte in den vergangenen vier Jahren 11 Direct-Air-Capture-Anlagen, darunter die leistungsfähigste Anlage ihrer Klasse in Kanada. Mit der LCC-Technologie erschließt Universal Carbon biogene und wässrige CO₂-Quellen wirtschaftlich und schafft die Grundlage für Carbon Removal, eFuels und eine zirkuläre Kohlenstoffwirtschaft.
Aortex develops a patient-specific stent graft for endovascular aortic repair (EVAR), enabling safer and faster treatment of aneurysms. Up to 50% of patients are ineligible for current EVAR solutions due to complex anatomy and face high-risk surgery or complications. Aortex addresses this with digitally customized stents based on 3D CT scans, delivered within days and designed for better fit, including use with smaller catheters.
GravNav is a next-generation navigation system designed to provide resilient, GPS-independent positioning for fleets, particularly cargo shipping companies, aviation companies, and potentially drone manufacturers. The system leverages Earth’s gravitational anomalies to determine location, offering a robust alternative to traditional GPS, which is vulnerable to spoofing and jamming.
Kolsetu builds “Elba,” an AI workforce that answers calls to emergency, government, and healthcare services, resolving over 80% of cases end-to-end. Founded in Hamburg in 2025 by Ben Arnon and Virendra Bhalothia, two international founders who understand the cost of not getting through, Kolsetu is driven by real experience. Ben has seen healthcare from both research and patient perspectives, shaping his mission to improve access. Beyond the company, he leads initiatives for international talent and builds communities that connect people and create opportunity.

Interview with the Founder
Seit 2021 führe ich als Co-Lead OTTO DOCK 6, die Venture Client Unit von OTTO & der Otto Group, und bin stolz darauf, als eine der Pionierinnen im Bereich Venture Clienting zu gelten. Unsere Arbeit hebt Transformation und Technologiefähigkeiten auf eine neue Ebene, indem wir uns mit voller Energie in die lebendige Welt der Startups stürzen. Im Venture Client Modell treten wir als Kunde der Startups auf und nutzen die neuesten Technologien, um die Herausforderungen unserer Fachbereiche zu meistern. Vor meinem Einstieg bei OTTO habe ich ein Unternehmen für mobile Dienstleistungsbuchungen gegründet und über dreieinhalb Jahre geleitet – eine Erfahrung, die meinen unternehmerischen Geist beflügelt und meine Leidenschaft für die Startup-Welt entfacht hat.
Marc Engelmann hat nach seiner Ausbildung zum Industriekaufmann, Journalismus in Hamburg studiert und als TV- und Videojournalist gearbeitet. Er entwickelte u.a. für funk (ARD & ZDF) neue Formate und war zuletzt als Redaktionsleiter bei einem Münchner Sender tätig. Ende 2019 gründete er die Restaurant-Flatrate “TASTE IT”, welche durch die Corona-Pandemie eingestellt wurde. Parallel war er als Dozent an der HAW Hamburg für den Bereich SocialMedia und Videoproduktion tätig. Anfang 2021 setze Marc den Grundstein für sein StartUp Boomerang®, dessen CEO und Geschäftsführer er heute ist. Boomerang entwickelt Mehrwegverpackungen für den Onlinehandel, um Verpackungsmüll und CO2 zu reduzieren. Er verantwortet die Bereiche Marketing, Produktentwicklung, Vision und Investorrelations. Bislang hat Boomerang in zwei Finanzierungsrunden eine Wachstumsfinanzierung über ca. 3 Mio € erhalten. Derzeit besteht das Team aus 10 Mitarbeitern, Geschäftssitz ist Hamburg und Ahrensburg.
Lucy Larby kennt Führung aus erster Hand – vom Mittelstand über Konzerne bis zu Startups – und hat vielfältige Führungsstile erlebt und begleitet. Heute unterstützt sie Unternehmen und Führungskräfte dabei, sich selbst klar zu führen und zukunftsfähige Prozesse zu etablieren. 2020 gründete sie AiDiA zur Sichtbarmachung innovativer Talente. Sie ist Gründerin von BOLDLY, Mitgründerin von akan afrofusion und als Leadership-Expertin bei Miss Germany auf JOYN aktiv.
Bettina Bölk is a business angel, startup mentor, and advisor to founders and investors. She supports early-stage startups with capital, strategic guidance, legal expertise, and access to her network. As a Partner at Dr. Lüders & Partner mbB, she specializes in venture capital and corporate law. She previously gained M&A and VC experience at a leading U.S. law firm and at UC Berkeley.
Matthias ist Startup-Berater im Haspa Startup Center und unterstützt Gründerinnen und Gründer in der Hamburger Metropolregion. Das Center begleitete zuletzt rund 260 Finanzierungen mit über 60 Mio. Euro Volumen. Durch seine Arbeit entstehen Kontakte zu Investoren, Unternehmen, Netzwerkpartnern sowie zur Bank, sodass Startups Kapital und Beratung erhalten. Sein Fokus liegt darauf, innovative Geschäftsmodelle zu begleiten, von der Ideenphase bis zum Markteintritt.
Andreas Kitzing ist Seriengründer und Startup-Experte aus Hamburg mit mehr als 20 Jahren Erfahrung in Entrepreneurship, Venture Building und Business Development. Nach dem Aufbau und erfolgreichen Exit mehrerer Unternehmen leitet er heute iF Momentum, den Accelerator von Impossible Founders. Dort unterstützt er Gründerinnen und Gründer dabei, wissenschaftliche Durchbrüche in erfolgreiche Unternehmen zu verwandeln
